Brazosport Safety Council Announces Expansion into Matagorda County with New Training Center

BAY CITY, Texas — Brazosport Safety Council (BSC) is pleased to announce the launch of the Matagorda Industrial Resource Center (MIRC), a new safety council dedicated to providing high-quality safety training, workforce development, and compliance services to industries, contractors, and community members throughout Matagorda County and the surrounding region.

Located within the Center for Energy Development in Bay City, home to Wharton County Junior College, the new 3,677-square-foot training facility will serve as a regional hub for industrial safety education and workforce development.

Currently undergoing renovations, the facility will feature a 25-station computer-based training lab, two instructor-led classrooms, and modern training technology designed to meet the evolving needs of employers across the Gulf Coast. Once operational, MIRC will offer a wide range of safety and compliance training programs to support local industries while helping prepare the region’s current and future workforce.

“Our vision is to bring the same high standard of safety training and customer service that Brazosport Safety Council has provided for decades directly to the Matagorda County community,” said Aaron Ennis, President & CEO of Brazosport Safety Council. “By establishing MIRC, we are investing in workforce development, supporting local industry, and making quality safety training more accessible to employers and workers throughout the region.”

The launch of MIRC represents an important milestone in Brazosport Safety Council’s continued commitment to expanding access to industry-recognized safety education and strengthening the Gulf Coast workforce. Additional updates, including hiring announcements, facility progress, and the official grand opening, will be shared as development continues.
